Our history
In the 70s, Mr. Santander Alemán Vence provided his services as a teacher at the Guanentá School, temporarily residing with his family in San Gil. He is still remembered for his character, his inspiring presence not only of respect and neatness but also of instilling in his students the need to speak a second language. His profession was a Philologist and Graduate in languages from the Universidad Libre de Colombia in Bogotá.
As he lay dying at the age of 79, Don Ivan's grandfather predicted success as an independent businessman. Honoring his promise to name his next venture, the name Hostel Santander Aleman was born.
Years later and after enduring a global pandemic that especially affected the hotel and tourism sector, two brothers from Barrancabermeja, determined to venture into a new business model, offered, without believing that they would enter a new business field. , becoming the owners of the hostel offering lodging services to travelers in Colombia.
